Well I made it through my very first Thanks Giving in my new home of Virginia Beach. (Is it still considered "new" if you've lived somewhere for almost a year?) Thanks Giving is one of my favorite holidays. You get to good food (REALLY good food) and be with the family. I got to thinking back to when I was living on my own in Ohio. Two of the five years that I had my own place I celebrated Thanks Giving by myself. It certainly wasn't bad. I ate well and enjoyed the day off but it was still a bit lonely with my immediate family being so far away. I never really felt like imposing on anyone else so I declined any extended offers to have dinner with anyone else. This year, for the first time in years, I got to see all of them for the holiday.
Speaking of family, I got a call from my good friend Justin Moses back home in Ohio. I've known Justin since we were kids, so he's practically family to me. We talked about gaming related stuff but it was just great to hear from him. I keep in contact with all my friends from home on Facebook, but it's still nice to hear the voice of familiar people.
Hope everyone had a happy Thanks Giving. I know I did. I'm only bummed I missed the Macy's Thanks Giving Day parade. I hear one of my favorite video game characters made a guest appearance. Not only that, he was leading the floats.
