Send in the Clone!

The Clone Saga is one of the most heavily criticized stories in Spider-Man's 45+ year history. Originally conceived as a 6 month story arc, because of high sales, it was decided to drag it out for as long as possible, a move that would later come back and bite Marvel. This much reviled is not without it's fans, (which is something that cannot be said for One More Day). I admit that I've bashed the Clone Saga along with many others, but some really cool stuff did come out of it. Ben Reily may have looked just like Peter Parker, but he was still a very different person and he's always been one of my favorite characters. And Spider-Girl is living proof that you can get something good out of something bad.

Two of the men originally involved in the Clone Saga. Tom DeFalco and Howard Mackie have been given a chance to writer the Clone Saga as originally intended. Mackie actually put out some quality stuff on the Spider titles before he burned out on the '99 reboot and Tom DeFalco is one of the best men to ever write Spider-Man, so I've got high hopes for this 6 part mini series. If you want to hear from the writers themselves, check out Newsrama's interview.

GOOO-GOOOOO, I want Milk

That is what I think about Mackie joining the team, I feel like a child wanting something that I feel taste bad, I wish Dematties was in the job instead of Mackie.

For saving grace the art and "Tom DeFalco's" writing are great, I may not be a casual reader of Spider-Girl but I did compliment "Tom Defalco" for being a writer that makes me enjoy reading his work in a disastrous work like "Maximum Garbage"
I feel ya on Mackie, Sol. His involvement makes me nervous.

R.I.P Mickey Mouse

In case you haven't heard , Wayne Allwine, the voice actor of Mickey Mouse passed away at the age of 62. He had been voice the world's most famous mouse since 1977. The original voice actor for Mickey was Walt Disney himself. Allwine's imitation of Disney's voice was spot on. Most of the the Mickey Mouse cartoons I've seen were voiced by Allwine. 'Tis a sad day in cartoon history. R.I.P, Wayne Allwine.

Spider-Haul!

My tax rebate check (finally) came in the mail and after setting some of the green aside for bills, I decided I'd treat myself. Went to my comic shop and snagged myself some cool Spider-Man goodies. I was thinking I'd pick up Amazing Spider-Man #247 to further complete my issues for Roger Stern's run. God must have really smiled on me because when I was looking through the back issue boxes for said comic, I found a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #248, which has the highly praised side story, The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man. And I was just talking about this story a few weeks ago. Go figure. This could be my Spidey biased kicking in, but I've always loved Black Cat more than Catwoman. Don't get me wrong, I like Selina Kyle and her feline alter ego. In fact, she stared in one of my favorite mini series, Selina's Big Score, but I find Felicia Hard to be a more interesting character. Be it the sexual tension between her and Spidey, or her simply being a good friend and ...
